Construction
The Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2007 and the accompanying Approved Code of Practice (ACOP L144) apply to all construction work in Great Britain and its territorial waters.
The Regulations emphasise the project management approach and are process related with co-operation, co-ordination and communication fundamental to the delivery of effective health and safety management. Greater liability on all duty holders under the Regulations is paramount, with a centre of gravity shift towards the Client who is charged with exercising more control over the entire process. Recognising that the Client is often not best placed to co-ordinate those liabilities the role of the Construction Design Management Co-ordinator (CDM-C) has developed from the previous Planning Supervisor role to provide the Client with a key project advisor with respect to construction health and safety risk management matters
MBS2 is able to competently fulfil the CDM-C role having experience on projects ranging from social housing refurbishments to major projects involving 24,620m2 at a complete project value of 115M. With a background as a project manager, Clerk of Works and site safety supervisor Mark Brown is the principal CDM-C. He has delivered specific CDM training to Client groups, safety groups and Architect practices and has, in his own words a natural curiosity towards the build and design process and necessary drive to take the vision of the final build safely through the construction phases to finish with a building that can be maintained effectively
In support of the CDM-C role MBS2 is able to produce the initial construction phase plan, conduct general site inspections and CDM compliance checks, deliver toolbox talks, assist with CHAS submissions, carry out contractor competency checks and offers a range of training either directly or through association wherever it is required.
If you are considering engaging a CDM-C, or construction site professional and want an exceptionally high level of service, ensuring all duty holders are engaged right across the whole project team then why not contact Mark?
